About Carolyn

Carolyn Rupp is a professional jazz dancer and choreographer whose work bridges classic jazz technique, musical theatre expression, and contemporary jazz funk.

Training Background

Carolyn is an American performer, choreographer, and educator with more than 13 years of professional experience across London, New York City, Chicago, Minneapolis, and throughout Europe. With a rich foundation in jazz, tap, hip-hop, contemporary, and ballet she brings both her technical background, and versatility to her work. She received her Bachelor’s degree in dance from Marymount Manhattan in NYC, and her MFA of Dance from Trinity Laban in London. Carolyn also is a classically trained musician, and has developed her teaching practice to focus on blending embodied rhythms and pushing dancers to investigate their musicality.

Experience

Her professional credits include appearances on the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing and live events such as the NYC Women’s March. Known for her dynamic teaching style and passion for making dance studios a safe space to play and grow, Carolyn currently teaches weekly classes at studios across London, inspiring students of all levels to build confidence, creativity, and love of their craft.
